1st Update

Hey everyone, first we just wanted to say thanks to everyone for your thoughts and prayers during our difficult time. We will be updating this blog whenever we have an update for you.
Jim is in Tampa General Hospital with bile duct cancer. As you can imagine it has been a big shock for us given his healthy manner. At this point they have done surgery to put in stents in his upper bile ducts in order to help drain the bile. That has relieved some of the pressure of the bile building up in his liver and his system. At this point they are waiting on some of the inflammation of the ducts to go down in order to go in and remove the tumor... they will attempt this either on Friday or Monday. Jim is on pain medication at this point and sleeping ALOT! Tomorrow (Thursday) he should be a little more awake and able to talk more. Thanks again for all the thoughts and prayers... keep 'em coming!

  1. Debbie and Jim, We are thinking and praying for you often. I wish I had know about this, as I was in Tampa over the past weekend at the ACC Championship game. I would have stopped by to see y'all. Please feel free to let us know if you need us for anything. Jan and Sam Plexico

  2. Rutt and Deb, you have been in our prayers since we found out about your problem. I know how tough you are, I thought they,(as in doc's) would just be able to go in and (to coin and old phrase that will be close to your heart)"peel the old tumor off the liver". Keep laughing and smiling it's the best medicine. We've come through some really tramatic times together, we've both been blessed by our families, friends and our unique experiences. It's just another battle that needs to be fought and won. Our love and prayers are with you,Deb and your family. Bob and Susie Dauchy

    Jim & Deb,
Just found out what happened -- you are both in our thoughts, and most of all our prayers. I know you're a tough guy Jim,and you'll be back in that boat I saw you in before you know it.
