6:47 Saturday the 12th....from Brad

Dad's white blood cell count is getting lower...the infection is getting better. The drains are working great and the doctor told us the his "situation" is looking "a little bit better". They are hoping to get him out of ICU in the morning (assuming they can find a room for him) since his heart and infection are looking better. They want to give him 48 hours of rest before they put him through anything else. He can eat and drink anything he wants for the rest of the weekend. After lunch we walked in and he was chugging a large sweet tea from McDonalds! He's been eating fruit, sherbert, etc. Monday the team will re-analyze whether they think the surgery can be done. Keep up the prayers everyone! It means alot. Love you all!

Do you need for us to go over to the house for anything?

News flash..update! We posted this eariler but we are so pumped, we wanted to say it again! Jim called us this evening at 7:15 to say he's feeling a bit stronger(his words). Had some dinner...all soft stuff. He couldn't talk for long as he's still pretty weak. He said to tell all of you thanks for your prayers and support. WE ARE KICKIN THIS... So great to hear his voice!

Hell yeah that's great news I'm so excited to hear that!! It's one step at a time and we'll take every single one. My dad filled me in earlier on Uncle Jim making the call to him which is awesome!! Sounds like he could use a honeymoon salad at this point, I'm sure they serve those there! If you don't know what that means, you'll have to ask him. Love you guys!! D

  6. I just found this, and I'm so happy to hear about the exciting progress! I've had the Rutts on my mind since my mom called me about it, and I just want you to know I am always praying for you, around the clock, and I have other people doing the same. Uncle Jim is so strong and has such strong people with him so I have so much faith. I love you all so, so much and I wish I could be giving you all hugs. Please give Uncle Jim my love!

  8. Michael and Dom told me the news this week and I was in shock just like everyone else. While it's very difficult to digest, staying positive and praying will get him (and everyone else!) through it. I know you're getting quite a bit of posts, but I couldn't not wish you the best and tell you that you're all in the Murphy's prayers.

We look forward to getting the positive updates from the blog and reading that Jim continues to get stronger and better. If there is anyone who can get through this, it's him for sure - with his strong will and positive outlook.

    Till the next update...

    Holly Murphy
