Today is Sunday and Hospice has nurses around the clock for us. They are wonderful. It has taken alot of pressure off for the moment and has given all of us a little break...so we can just be with him and hope he can hear our voices when we talk of all our memories with him. We just want to be a family and make sure he knows we will be ok- and show him how much we love him. The nurses can take care of the rest. We feel it is getting near. We are hoping that he is at peace with all of this. He sleeps all the time and is comfortable in his own bed in his own room for now. We had hoped to get him outside on Friday for the launch but he was too weak to be out of bed. He watched it on TV and that was good enough, although we had hoped to actually go there and get up close and personal. Please pray for our strenghth and we will keep you all posted when there are any significant changes. Thank you for your prayers. The Ruttenberg family

    Hi Jim and Deb:

I sort of fell off the planet on this end and it sounds like you've been doing some falling of your own. I'm so sorry to hear that things have gotten tougher on you, but I'm absolutely certain that no matter what we face, Jesus said he would never leave us nor forsake us. Sometimes when we hurt the most, he becomes even more dearer. I probably don't have to tell you that because you're living it. I'm sorry this has come your way, my friend. I was really hoping to show you how to fly a plane correctly.

I suppose none of us know exactly what the future holds, but here's a special message some won't understand but I know you will:

"Four Juliet Romeo, cleared for the option two-three. After the option, fly two three zero climb and maintain three thousand, contact Departure one twenty five point five."

I don't know what God holds for you, brother, but I know he has a plan for you. He is our ATC. Whatever heading he gives you, fly the course and keep the blue side up.

You and your family are in my prayers.

    Love you,
    Rick Myers

  6. The pager makes it's beeping noise,
    The scanner comes to life.
You see excitement on his face
As he goes off to fight.

    No matter what you're doing
    Or whatever the current plan,
All you can say is "Later Hon"
As he gets those keys in hand.

    You say a little prayer
That God will keep him safe,
That with all the pride and bravery
No one will make a mistake.

You know those men are Brothers
    And fiercely will protect
The lives of each other and others--
They will truly give their best!

You and your "man's best friend"
    Are both loyal and true.
    You keep each other company
Waiting for him to return to you.

And when that front door opens
    WIth "Honey I'm home" again,
You thank the Lord he's back OK,
    Your brave and strong Fireman.

Jim and Deb, how many times we made this trip together, the times too many to count, but we knew one day that we'd make one last trip, to a job too big to handle. Your strength and faith will allow you one last trip, your smile will show the way. Brave of heart and strength of mind, you've made it better for us all. Show the way there brother, a better life awaits us all. No pain and suffering, we'll be together once again. God bless you Rutt. Dauch
